You see through two interlocking frames that provide space for the landscape around to unfold around you. The two steel ribbon lines depict the borders between Denmark and Germany before and after the peaceful border shift in 1920. A border line, if it is an open border, is merely a virtual transition from landscapes that are solely only designated on a map. If you roam freely in nature through the landscape, the visible horizon shifts further and further away despite your efforts to get closer. In such an experience, the horizon line becomes a natural border beyond reach, continuously arousing curiosity as to how things are on the far side of it.
